Über
graduated
with an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2008
and went on to complete a Postgraduate Research Program at the Jan
van Eyck Academie in Maastricht. Ramirez-Figueroa has been awarded
numerous prestigious prizes and fellowships including the John Simon
Guggenheim Fellowship and a stipend for
Akademie Schloss Solitude. In 2016, he
participated in the DAAD Berlin Artists-in-Residence Program.
Ramirez-Figueroa has organized performances and solo exhibitions at
numerous institutions, including Gasworks in London, Tate Modern in
London, CAPC musee d’art contemporain de Bordeaux, the
Museum Haus Esters, and Kunsthalle Lisbon.
The artist also participated in the 10th Gwangju Biennale (2014),
13th
Lyon Biennale (2015), 32nd
Bienal de Sao Paulo (2016), and the 57th Venice Biennale “Viva Arte
Viva” (2017).
