Haus der Kunst is excited to announce that Xue Tan, Chief Curator and Head of Programme and Exhibitions since June 2024, has been appointed to co-curate the 15th edition of Shanghai Biennale as part of the creative team. She will co-curate the internationally renowned exhibition in addition to her position at Haus der Kunst, together with Chief Curator Kitty Scott and Co-Curator Daisy Desrosiers.

“I’m honoured to co-curate the 15th Shanghai Biennale—an opportunity to advance ongoing dialogues with artists and institutions across the region and internationally. This engagement enriches my research, while keeping me attuned to the evolving dynamics of art practices. I hope to bring meaningful exchanges and new possibilities for collaborations between our work at Haus der Kunst and Asia.“ – Xue Tan

“I am thrilled that Xue Tan will further these international dialogues at Haus der Kunst, by connecting with one of the most influential biennials of contemporary art in Asia. Her deep knowledge and experience on the Asian Region, as well as on transdisciplinary contemporary artistic practices, are at the core of the exciting transformation Haus der Kunst is going through.“ – Andrea Lissoni
