Adrian Rifkin

Adrian Rifkin is a visiting professor in art at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, London, and an emeritus professor of Art Writing at Goldsmiths. He has worked in art education and art history since 1970 and a selection of some 32 of his left-leaning and queer articles has recently been published under the title Communards and Other Cultural Histories (edited by Steve Edwards, 2016), as part of Brill’s Historical Materialism Series, while Interdisciplinary Encounters, (edited by Dana Arnold on I B Tauris, 2015) is a collaborative engagement with his work by artists and historians. He has been developing a series of performed ‘site specific enunciations’ which engage with cultural conflicts, memories and politics, and their adequacy to the conduct of a leftish life, of which this presentation will be the latest.
