Event overview

Guerrilla Girls: The Art of Behaving Badly. Lecture-Performance with ‘Käthe Kollwitz’.

The Guerrilla Girls, founded more than thirty years ago in New York, are now among the icons of feminist activism in the international art world. Like Miriam Cahn, they expose sexism, racism, and corruption in politics, pop culture, and the visual arts in the form of billboards, posters, books, and public appearances.

They act anonymously, wearing gorilla masks, and use pseudonyms referring to deceased artists.

Käthe Kollwitz, one of the founders, will give a lecture-performance at the Haus der Kunst as part of the exhibition ‘Miriam Cahn. I as Human’.
