Info

The live exhibition “ECHOES. Plot Twist” explores the intersections of the digital and the body, seeking new ways to connect, communicate, and create meaning in a digitalised world. Over four days of music, conversations, and performances, “Plot Twist” delves into the dynamics of human and non-human communication.

Friday, 31.1.25

6.30 pm | Rully Shabara. Talk

The second day of the live exhibition “ECHOES. Plot Twist” begins with a conversation with renowned vocalist Rully Shabara, who will introduce his Xhabarabot, an AI Voice Machine which he has trained to incorporate his unique aesthetics with elements of traditional Indonesian music. The discussion will explore data as the language of the machine, synthetic feelings, and the bot’s desire to mimic human expression.

7.30 | Rully Shabara. Concert

The talk will be followed by an experimental performance in which Shabara, accompanied by three local musicians, will engage in an improvised dialogue with his Xhabarabot.

8.45 pm | Pavel Milyakov & Martyna Basta. Concert

Martyna Basta and Pavel Milyakov, who previously collaborated on the track Moon Chant for Milyakov’s recent album release, will perform together for the first time. The two share a fascination for raw, atmospheric textures and unpredictable “plot twists”. Their performance could be described as a sonic diary hypnotic and contemplative. Both artists find significance and beauty in decay, impermanence, and change.

10 pm | Laurel Halo. DJ set

Laurel Halo, who in addition to her reputation as a versatile composer is also a radio and club DJ, will close the night. Halo has collaborated with Hanne Lippard on the TUNE Terrace Hall commission, which will be inaugurated during the weekend of “ECHOES. Plot Twist.”

Tickets will be available soon.
