Event overview

Donald Duck was the name Markus Lüpertz gave one of his early painting series from the 1960s. Influenced by numerous Walt Disney films, the artist was intrigued by the possibilities of animation and the realization of images in film and Lüpertz translated his impressions into his works. But where is Donald Duck, the clumsy duck in a blue sailor suit with a red bow and a blue cap? In the exhibition, we examine what happened to the famous cartoon character; back in the studio, you will gradually transform your own favorite comic figure.
