Event overview

A collaborative project with art education students at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich

In the context of El Anatsui’s “Second Wave,” a monumental installation on the south façade of Haus der Kunst, students at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich explored the role of art in public space and discussed the question of whether art in public space and art in public-sector buildings require a special for of art mediation. On 10 July, the students will present their projects as part of an action day, which they have designed for “Second Wave” and the surrounding space.

The event is intended for teachers and art educators as well as anyone who wishes to experience art in public space beyond traditional guided tour formats.

Moderation: Sabine Brantl, Curator Archive and Director Education Programs, Haus der Kunst and Prof. Dr. med. Johannes Kirschenmann, Academy of Fine Arts Munich
