Marta Minujín is championed as a trailblazer of happenings, performance and pop art, her conceptual and performative practice foregrounds the participation and experience of the public. Often denoted as the Argentinian Andy Warhol, she is one of the most acknowledged post-war artists in Latin America. By creating surprising and sometimes uncomfortable situations, Minujín aims to tease out the visitors’ curiosity. For of “Inside Other Spaces. Environments by Women Artists 1956-1976”, the artist replicated ¡Revuélquese y viva!, an environment that prompts the audience to sleep, think and dream in it. The curators of the exhibition, Marina Pugliese and Andrea Lissoni, welcome Minujín to discuss her diverse and effervescent oeuvre and to invite the public to immerse itself in the artist’s colourful and vibrant world.
